As to Solomon [David’s son], I blessed him with the ability to order the winds to travel [and carry the clouds and the rain water] such far distances which would take them a month to go and a month to return. I also provided him with a gushing oil well. I also subdued the Jinns (Extra-terrestrials) to offer him their know how; if any of them would rebel, he would have been punished

New and/or Partial Translations, and works in progress
For Solomon, We gave [the speed of] wind. Its early morning was a month, and its evening was a month. We made a fount of molten metal to flow for him, and spirit-beings worked for him, by the will of his Lord. If any of them neglected Our command, We made him taste the penalty of the blazing fire.
To Solomon [We made subservient] the wind: its morning course [covered the distance of] a month's journey, and its evening course a month's journey. We caused a fountain of molten brass to flow for him, and some of the jinn worked under his control by permission of his Lord. Whoever of them deviated from Our command We shall make him taste suffering through a blazing flame.
And to Solomon we subjected (that which moves like the) wind, whose morning course was a month and evening course a month! We caused a fount of copper to flow for him! And by the permissibility of his Rabb, some (the Ifrit type) of the jinni (invisible beings) worked before him. And whoever abandons Our command We will make him taste the suffering of a scorching fire. (If we consider this ‘fount of copper’ in light of the ‘molten copper’ Dhulqarnain uses to build the set against the Agog and Magog, it becomes obvious that this is not in reference to a physical-material situation in the general sense, but to something else altogether. Also taking into account the fact that both Dhulqarnain [one with double horns – or antennas perhaps?] and Solomon had providence over invisible beings, approaching this not as the iron element per se, but the use of the force in its elemental composition may allow us to gain different perspectives. I do not wish to delve into this any further.)

And for Solomon (We made subservient) the wind which travelled in the morning a months journey and a months journey in the evening. And We made a fountain of molten copper to flow out for him, and of the jinn, some worked before him by the leave of his Lord; and whoever of them turned away from Our command, We made him taste of the chastisement of the blazing Fire
Al-muntakhab fi tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim
And to Solayman We made subservient the wind covering the distance, normally taking one month, in one morning stride forward and turning in one evening stride backward. We made a source of copper flow freely for him and of the Jinn those serving him by Allah's will, and he -of the Jinn- who defected or did not fulfill Allah's command came within the measure of Allah's wrath and We subjected him to the blazes
And (We made) the wind (to be under the control) of Sulaiman. Its morning (journey was equal to the journey of) a month and its evening (journey was equal to the journey of) a month and We made a fountain of copper to flow for him (probably in the form of a volcanic eruption) and from among the jinn (We gave him those) who worked before him by the order of his Fosterer, and whoever from among them deviated from Our command, We made him taste (something) from the punishment of blazing fire.
